Izzy Irwin
By Avery Zehner Izzy Irwin is an eighth grade student at our school who was on our volleyball team. She also plays soccer for Chickasaw Futball Club. The reason she love playing volleyball and soccer’s because of the adrenaline and how fast pace the game is. Izzy’s favorite sports team is Tennessee. She has two brother, one older and one younger. Izzy has 4 dogs, 1 cat, a fish, and a lot of chickens. In her free time she enjoys playing with her younger brother, sleeping, and watching Netflix. That’s it for this weeks student spotlight! Makena Metheny
By Avery Zehner Makena Metheny is an 8th grade student at our school that is in NJHS and Beta Club. She has been dancing for 10 years, and her least favorite style of dance is ballet. She has two siblings, a brother and a sister. She also has two cats, named Ginger and Gracie. Makena says that her least favorite subject is Language Arts, because it requires a lot of reading and writing. She loves going to get Starbucks and Chick-fil-A. Her favorite season is summer because she can go to the beach, which is her favorite summer activity. |
Jazmine Houge

Jazmine says that it has been easy adjusting to being at our school because likes how our school is a friendly environment! Jazmine says that she has made so may new friends here. Of course, she misses all of her friends from her old school. She also likes our teachers too! Mr.Mcgee has been her favorite teacher so far because she loves the fact that he’s funny . Jazmine says that she likes getting to have her own computer, at her old school they didn’t have computers to themselves. This year she looks forward to playing Volleyball for our school. Isabella Efaw
By Emmi Lovett and Sonnie Boone Hello Lynx! This week’s Student Spotlight is Isabella Efaw. In school Isabella enjoys science the most because she loves experiments and she likes to learn new things about the subject. Isabella’s least favorite subject is math because she struggles in it, but she believes she has made an effort to do better. Isabella has great grades consisting of A’s and B’s, but her main goal for this year is to make all A’s. Her greatest achievement in school this year is going from an “F to an A”. Isabella likes playing outside in her free time during the summer and enjoying the warm air. Isabella’s favorite season is winter because she loves Christmas time. She loves celebrating Christmas, especially with her dad because she doesn’t get to spend as much time with him. Goodbye Lynx! |
Nakyra Isom

Nakyras favorite Tv show is Naruto because she loves anime and its interesting. If there one thing she wanted to improve it would be the length of class time. Dillan Jones
Ny'Tajah Marshall Hello Lynx! This week’s student spotlight is on Dillan Jones. Dillan is enjoying his Bon Lin experience, but some things would make it better. Such as hand dryers because the paper towel dispenser often gets stuck. There should also be more homework so people’s grades could be better than what they already are. To manage his grades, he plans on studying hard and doing his homework. He is looking forward to is going to the Valentine dance so he can hang out with his friends and have fun. One thing Dillan would add to Bon Lin is more time in between class so he can have more locker time. Three words his friends would describe him as are, funny, athletic, and tall. One place he would like to go to is Atlanta because of most of his family lives there. Lastly, Dillan’s favorite color is red because it's such a fashionable color. Mrs. Dixon
Hey, Lynx! This week’s Teacher Spotlight is… Mrs. Dixon! Mrs. Dixon loves her job because all the students are very nice and caring. If she wasn’t teacher she’d be a business owner. She went to Jackson state college, and she really enjoyed her time there. She also enjoys teaching science, that’s why she decided she would be a teacher here at BLMS. Her high school physics teacher also greatly influenced her to teach today. She’s been a teacher for 15 years and she also loves traveling and going to museums. A funny story she remembered, was when she played tug of war in field day, and fell. That's all for now, and we'll see you next week! |
Dr. Winter
Dr. Winter is one the amazing teachers here at BLMS. Dr. Winter is a 7th grade teacher who teaches science. She loves to teach and see her students grow. She loves teaching because she can see how each students personality and talents grow. If she wasn’t a teacher she would want to be a researcher, but she decided to become a teacher so she could show kids how learning can be fun. Her sixth grade science teacher inspired her to become a teacher and her students encourage her to do better everyday. One place she majored going was Pacific Luther Uni. Coach Hill
Hey Lynx! This week’s teacher spotlight is on Coach Hill. Coach Hill is a 6th grade Social Studies and Language Arts teacher. He likes many things about his job, but some are the people he works with, the students that brighten his day and make him laugh daily, and the athletes that he gets an opportunity to lead and coach in football and basketball. Coach Hill wanted to be a teacher because he worked in a summer camp for 5 years before teaching and he really liked working with middle schoolers and high schoolers. Coach Hill’s students definitely test his patience regularly but he would not be teaching if he did not enjoy it. He says he can always do better in different aspects of the job and teaching his students. His hobbies are playing basketball, golf, and bowling. He likes watching sports on T.V. and going to sport events like football games. His pet peeves are talking while he’s talking, disrespect, and bad drivers.
